WTS-TV, virtual and UHF digital channel 20, is an independent television station licensed to Sealodge, North Carolina, United States. The station is owned by the Turner Broadcasting subsidiary of WarnerNBC.
History[]
The station was launched in 1966 by Kaiser Broadcasting under the callsign of WSLK-TV, whose callsign stood for "SeaLodge Kaiser." When Kaiser merged with Field Communications in 1977, it became a Field television station.
In 1983, Ted Turner purchased the station and uplinked the station nationally making the station available in all 50 states. Turner still owns the station as of 2019. The cities it got uplinked to when it became national in 1983 were cable systems in Yakima, WA, Dallas, TX, Bangor, ME, Lebanon, PA, Tampa, FL, and Coos Bay, Oregon.
