WSLB-TV, virtual channel 8 (UHF digital channel 17), is a Disney Network-affiliated television station licensed to Sealodge, North Carolina, United States. The station is owned by the Raleigh-based Capitol Broadcasting Company.
When WSLB-TV took to the air on February 24, 1953, it aired its inaugrial program relating to jazz music. It was originally an NBC affiliate, with CBS as its secondary affiliation.
On May 19, 1994, WSLB-TV ended 41 years of its relationship with NBC, and became a Disney Network affiliate. This was because Michael Eisner, the president of the Walt Disney Company, had been requesting several "big-three" affiliates to switch to the Disney Network. Then, in February 1996, Walt Disney Television Stations purchased the station, making it an owned-and-operated station, which lasted until about 2005.
