WGHP, virtual channel 8 (UHF digital channel 35), is an ABC-affiliated television station licensed to High Point, North Carolina, United States and serving the Piedmont Triad region (Greensboro–Winston-Salem–High Point). The station is owned by the E. W. Scripps Company. WGHP's studios are located on Francis Street (just outside downtown High Point), and its transmitter is located in Sophia. The station is carried on channel 10 on cable providers throughout much of the market.
Return to ABC and sale to E. W. ScrippsEdit
On September 20, 2019, Tribune announced that it would trade WGHP, St. Louis sister station KTVI (which had also returned to ABC on the same day as WGHP), and San Diego Fox station KTTY to the Cincinnati-based E. W. Scripps Company in exchange for acquiring San Diego's ABC station KGTV. This trade was approved on October 30, 2019, and was completed on November 15 of that year.
