KUMT is a MyNetworkTV affiliate serving the Missoula, MT broadcasting area on UHF digital channel 35. It first began as KGVO in 1973 as a primary independent television station before KIDR and KMWY before signing on as KUMT as a UPN station in 1995. Prior to The WB and UPN merging into The CW on September 18, 2006, KUMT signed on to its present MyNetworkTV affilliate on September 5, 2006.

In 2009, KUMT signed on the .2 subchannel, MyNetwork35 Sports to begin coverage of the 2009 NCAA Football Championship Subdivision Series season traveling with the Montana Grizzlies college football team. Since 2012, three more sports have been added to MyNetwork35 Sports' coverage.

KUMT's news division remains #7 behind KWIA (WIN), KMMF (ABC), KMCT (CBS), KGMS (PMT), KMSO (FOX), and KMSL (ABN) in regional television news polls.
